Turmeric is one of the most valued plants in the world. It comes from the Indian subcontinent, where it has been used for thousands of years as a spice and medicinal herb. Today it is used all over the world as a dietary supplement, spice, natural food, and even as a cosmetic ingredient.

The popularity of turmeric dates back to antiquity. The first mentions of the use of turmeric date back to Ayurveda and were written almost 2,500 years ago, describing its benefits.

However, only the latest and advanced scientific methods have confirmed the health benefits of using its unique compounds. Turmeric has been proven to contain compounds with potent health properties. These compounds are called curcuminoids, the most important of which is curcumin.

Curcumin is the main active ingredient in turmeric and is a powerful antioxidant.

Curcumin is one of the most popular and traditionally used herbs, often also known as the "golden spice". It is grown in various parts of India and other Asian countries.

Curcumin is fat soluble so should be consumed with a meal.

However, the curcumin content in turmeric is very low and amounts to about 3% of the dry weight of turmeric, which is why the Aliness brand product contains the patented complex: Curcumin C3 Complex®, which is obtained from dried Curcuma longa rhizomes (turmeric) and standardized to contain at least 95% curcuminoids .

Effect of Piperine on Turmeric

Preclinical research results:

Albino wistar rats (n = 96) of both sexes were selected in the study. The animals were divided into two groups: one group received curcumin (2 g / kg) and the other group received curcumin (2 g / kg) followed by piperine (20 mg / kg)

The kinetic profile was established for both groups at different time intervals: 0, 0.25, 0.50, 0.75, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 h

The results clearly showed the presence of curcuminoids at a higher serum concentration after 1 hour and 2 hours of administration of the combination of curcumin and piperine.

The product uses the highest quality cellulose capsules "Vcaps® Capsules"
